Thomas Studebaker made his Seattle Opera debut as the First Armed Man in Mozart’s Zauberflöte in 1999.  He returned to the company in 2000 as Froh for Wagner’s Rheingold and appeared the next year in Wagner’s Ring des Nibelungen. Most recently, he sang the role of Narraboth here in R. Strauss’s Salome. Studebaker made his Metropolitan Opera debut as the Officer in R. Strauss’s Ariadne auf Naxos. He has also sung at Santa Fe Opera, L’Opéra de Montréal, Sarasota Opera, and Teatro Municipal in Santiago, Chile. In 2002, he sang Siegmund in Wagner’s Walküre at Lyric Opera of Chicago. Other recent roles include Narraboth and Tichon in Janáček’s Katya Kabanová at Florida Grand Opera as well as Siegmund with New Orleans Opera.  At Seattle Opera, he will sing the First Knight in Parsifal in 2003 and Don José in Carmen in 2004.
