Andrea Silvestrelli made his Seattle Opera debut as Fasolt/Hunding in the 2009 Ring. He also sang Fasolt in Das Rheingold and Hagen in Götterdämmerung at San Francisco Opera and Lyric Opera of Chicago. Other Wagner roles include King Marke in Tristan und Isolde, König Heinrich in Lohengrin at the Tyrolean Festival Erl, Fafner at Deutsche Oper Berlin, and Landgraf Herrmann in Tannhäuser at the Nomori Opera Festival in Tokyo. Internationally, Silvestrelli has appeared at Teatro alla Scala, Opéra National de Paris, Royal Opera Covent Garden, Concertgebouw, and Sydney Opera House, among many others. Recent roles include Colline in La bohème at Lyric Opera of Chicago, Sparafucile at San Francisco Opera, and Filippo II in Don Carlo at Houston Grand Opera. Silvestrelli’s other performances include Sparafucile at the Metropolitan Opera and LA Opera, Sarastro in Die Zauberflöte at Santa Fe Opera, and the title role in Bartók’s Bluebeard’s Castle at Welsh National Opera. Upcoming engagements include Sparafucile at Seattle Opera and Don Basilio in Il barbiere di Siviglia at San Francisco Opera.
