British bass Andrew Greenan made his professional debut in Schoenberg’s Glückliche Hand at Teatro alla Scala. He has appeared at Royal Opera Covent Garden, English National Opera, Glyndebourne, Hamburg State Opera, Vienna Volksoper, Gran Teatre del Liceu, Théâtre de la Monnaie, New Israeli Opera, and San Francisco Opera, among others. He made his Metropolitan Opera debut in 2006 as Heinrich in Wagner’s Lohengrin. Other recent appearances include the four villains in Offenbach’s Contes d’Hoffmann, the Doktor in Berg’s Wozzeck, Landgraf in Wagner’s Tannhauser, and Baron Ochs in Richard Strauss’s Rosenkavalier. Greenan made his Seattle Opera debut in Wagner’s Parsifal and returned to the company in 2006 as the Police Commisioner for Der Rosenkavalier.
