Brian Stucki makes his Seattle Opera debut in Bizet’s Pearl Fishers. Stucki’s performances this season and last included Almaviva in Rossini’s Barbiere di Siviglia at Opera Pacific, Nadir in Bizet’s Pearl Fishers at Lyric Opera of Kansas City, the Chevalier in Poulenc’s Dialogues of the Carmelites at Kentucky Opera, and Ottavio in Mozart’s Don Giovanni with Opera Fuoco. Other recent roles include his international debut as Ferrando in Mozart’s Così fan tutte with New Israeli Opera, and Almaviva with Compañía Nacional de Opera in Mexico City. He also sang Ferrando at Piedmont Opera, Camille in Tobias Picker’s Thérèse Raquin at Dicapo Opera Theatre, and Alfredo in Verdi’s Traviata at Washington East Opera. Stucki’s concert engagements include Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, Utah Symphony, Jacksonville Symphony, Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra, Boston Baroque, and the Handel and Haydn Society. An accomplished cellist, Stucki has released a recording of Rachmaninoff works on the Tantara label. Future engagements include Ramiro in Rossini’s Cenerentola with Opera Company of North Carolina and Almaviva with Opera Carolina.
