American soprano Carla Thelen Hanson recently made her New York City Opera debut as the title role of Puccini’s Tosca. Recent engagements include Maddalena in Giordano’s Andrea Chénier at Mobile Opera and Röschen in the U.S. premiere of dame Ethyl Smyth’s The Forest with the Plymouth Music Series. She recently won second place in the Gerda Lissner Foundation Competition. She has also performed with the Arizona Opera, Virginia Opera, Santa Fe Opera, Union Avenue Opera, Twin Cities Opera, and she regularly performs on concert stage with symphony orchestras throughout the United States. Next, she performs Chrysothemis in Richard Strauss’s Elektra at Nashville Opera.
