Carolyn Kahl made her Seattle Opera mainstage debut in 2004 as the Composer in Richard Strauss’s Ariadne auf Naxos, and returned here as Stella in Offenbach’s Contes d’Hoffmann and Sesto in Handel’s Julius Caesar. As a member of Seattle Opera’s Young Artists Program from 2002 to 2005, she sang Dorabella in Mozart’s Così fan tutte and Cherubino in his Nozze di Figaro, a role she recently reprised in Coeur d’Alene and with Greensboro Opera. She made her Seattle Symphony debut as a soloist in Schumann’s Manfred, and has returned for Vivaldi’s Gloria, selections from Mozart’s Idomeneo, and Mozart’s Mass in C minor. In addition, Kahl made her Berkshire Opera debut as Giovanna in Verdi’s Rigoletto, and has since returned several times, most recently as Hansel in Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel. In the 2005/06 season, she made her Augusta Opera debut as Nicklausse, the Muse, and Antonia’s Mother in Les contes d’Hoffmann, and performed in their annual gala. In 2006/07 season, she returned to Greensboro Opera for their gala concerts.
