Bio

Catherine Cangiano returns to Seattle Opera in Parsifal after her debut here in January, 2003, as Norina in Donizetti’s Don Pasquale. Cangiano has appeared frequently with the Deutsche Oper Berlin, where her roles have included Amor in Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice, Papagena in Mozart’s Zauberflöte, Elvira in Rossini’s Italiana in Algeri, the Sandman and Dew Fairy in Humperdinck’s Hänsel und Gretel, the First Flower Maiden in Wagner’s Parsifal, Nannetta in Verdi’s Falstaff, Pepik in Janacek’s Cunning Little Vixen, and Sister Constance in Poulenc’s Dialogues des Carmélites. Cangiano has appeared with Stadttheater St. Gallen in Switzerland in several roles, including Galathee in Suppé’s Schöne Galathee and Musetta in Puccini’s Bohème.
