Costume designer Catherine Zuber made her Seattle Opera debut designing costumes for Florencia en el Amazonas in 1998. As a resident designer at American Repertory Theater in Cambridge, Massachusetts, she has designed costumes for more than forty productions. Her designs have been seen at New York City Opera, Canadian Opera, Glimmerglass Opera, Opera Theater of St. Louis, and American Ballet Theater. Her Broadway theater designs include productions of The Triumph of Love (Connecticut Critics Circle Award and Drama Desk nomination), Ivanov (Drama Desk nomination), The Sound of Music, Twelfth Night, The Red Shoes, London Assurance, The Rose Tattoo, and Philadelphia Here I Come. Zuber was the recipient of the 1997 Obie Award for sustained achievement in design. In 2005, she received the Tony for her costumes designs for Light in the Piazza.
