American soprano Christina Bouras has sung Gilda in Verdi’s Rigoletto with New York City Opera, Evansville Symphony, and Glimmerglass Opera. She appears as Gilda for her debut with Seattle Opera in 2004. Bouras has sung the title roles of Handel’s Semele and Partenope with the Skylight Opera, Queen of the Night in Mozart’s Zauberflöte with Opera Roanoke and The Aspen Opera Theater, Lucia in Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor at Sarasota Opera and Opera Santa Barbara, and Leila in Bizet’s Pêcheurs des perles with Sarasota Opera. At the Spoleto Opera Festival, she appeared as Galatea in Handel’s Acis and Galatea and as the Cathedral Singer and Daughter in Shostakovich’s Nose. For her debut with Lyric Opera of Cleveland, Bouras sang Beth in Mark Adamo’s Little Women, a role that she has also sung at Glimmerglass Opera. In 2005, she will return to Sarasota Opera to sing Zerlina in Mozart’s Don Giovanni.
