Soprano Dana Beth Miller makes her Seattle Opera debut in Don Giovanni as Donna Elvira, a role that she has also sung at Austin Lyric and Cincinnati Operas. Other roles have included the First Lady in Mozart’s Zauberflöte and the High Priestess in Verdi’s Aida for Dallas Opera, Sorel in Menotti’s Consul for Arizona Opera, and Girogetta in Puccini’s Tabarro for Des Moines Opera. At New York City Opera, Miller has appeared as Musetta in Puccini’s Bohème and Eve’s Daughter in the world premiere of Deborah Drattell’s Lilith. Other roles include Lillian Russell in Virgil Thomson’s The Mother of Us All at San Francisco Opera, Ann Putnam in Robert Ward’s Crucible at Washington Opera, and Mary Willis Tweedy in Carlisle Floyd’s Cold Sassy Tree with Utah Opera. Miller has also appeared at Cincinnati Symphony, Des Moines Metro Opera, Western Opera Theater, Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, and the Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia.
