Dean Elzinga sang Alidoro in Rossini’s Cenerentola and Biterolf in Wagner’s Tannhäuser at Metropolitan Opera, both under James Levine. For Opera San Jose, Mississippi Opera, and Nevada Opera, he has sung Méphistophélès in Gounod’s Faust. Other roles includes the title role of Rossini's Turco in Italia for Opera San Jose and Basilio in Rossini’s Barbiere di Siviglia for both Opera San Jose and New West Symphony, Ramfis in Verdi’s Aida at Opera Carolina, Escamillo in Bizet’s Carmen at Vienna Volksoper, Poo-Bah in Sullivan’s Mikado at the Portland Opera, and Nick Shadow in Stravinsky’s Rake's Progress at Edmonton Opera. Elzinga has sung at New York City Opera, Glimmerglass Opera, Eos Orchestra, Connecticut Grand Opera and Orchestra, Arizona Opera, and Opera Memphis. He has made numerous concert appearances with orchestras around the United States. Elzinga made his Seattle Opera debut singing all four villains in Offenbach’s Contes d’Hoffmann.
