Karen Driscoll


Karen Driscoll made her Seattle Opera debut in 2003 as Tatyana in Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin and returns to the company as Musetta in 2007 She has sung both women’s roles in La Bohème: Musetta for Florida Grand Opera, Michigan Opera Theatre, Opera Columbus, and Opera Carolina and Mimì for Opéra de Montréal, Virginia Opera, and Baltimore Opera. Her Pamina in Mozart’s Zauberflöte has been heard at Baltimore Opera, Opéra de Montréal, and Lyric Opera of Kansas City. Other roles for Driscoll include Susanna in Mozart’s Nozze di Figaro for Michigan Opera Theatre and Opéra de Montréal, Despina in Mozart’s Così fan tutte, Juliett in Gounod’s Romeo et Juliette for Vancouver Opera, and the title role of Carlisle Floyd’s Susannah for Opéra de Montréal, the title role in Massenet’s Manon for Florida Grand Opera and Florentine Opera, Antonia in Offenbach’s Contes d’Hoffmann for Palm Beach Opera, and Sieglinde in Long Beach Opera’s new version of Wagner’s Ring des Nibelungen. Driscoll won the Gilbert Artist of the Year award from Florida Grand Opera and Grand Prize in the Lee Schaenen Foundation Competition.
