Mary Dunleavy


American soprano Mary Dunleavy makes her Seattle Opera debut as Leïla in Bizet’s Pearl Fishers, a role which she has previously sung at New York City Opera, Opera Company of Philadelphia, and Opera Theatre of Saint Louis. Her leading roles include Violetta in Verdi’s Traviata at the Metropolitan Opera, San Francisco Opera, Barcelona’s Gran Teatre del Liceu, NYCO, Opera Theatre of Saint Louis, and with the Nederlands Philharmonisch Orkest; Gilda in Verdi’s Rigoletto at the Met, San Francisco Opera, Teatro Municipal de Santiago, and Hamburgische Staatsoper; Konstanze in Mozart’s Entführung aus dem Serail with Ensemble Orchestral de Paris, Cincinnati May Festival, Washington National Opera, NYCO, Opera Company of Philadelphia, and Boston Lyric Opera; Pamina in Mozart’s Zauberflöte at the Met, Boston Lyric Opera, and Portland Opera; the title role in Massenet’s Thaïs at Opera Theatre of Saint Louis; all four heroines in Offenbach’s Contes d’Hoffmann at Dallas Opera, and the Infanta in Zemlinksy’s Zwerg at Los Angeles Opera and with the Philadelphia Orchestra. Later this season, she will sing Violetta in La Traviata in her debut performances at Lyric Opera of Kansas City and in a new production by Sir Jonathan Miller at Glimmerglass Opera.
