Bio
Michel Beaulac made his Seattle Opera debut as co-set designer for Giordano’s Andrea Chénier in 1996. Beaulac’s artwork has been exhibited in Quebec, Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, and New York. In 1989, Beaulac joined the staff of the Opéra de Montréal and served as Artistic Administrator. He co-designed the sets for Andrea Chénier (1992) and Bizet’s Carmen (1994). Beaulac also created the sets for a new production of Fedora which opened the Opéra de Montréal’s 1995/96 season. He co-designed and co-directed a staged version of Carmina Burana during the 1996/97 season, co-designed a production of Puccini’s Manon Lescaut for the 1997/98 season, as well as Verdi’s Don Carlo and Massenet’s Manon for the 1998/99 season.
