Pamela Rosenberg joined the leadership team of The American Academy in Berlin in September 2010, assuming the newly created position of Dean of Fellows and Programs, with responsibility for the Academy’s programs and the intensification of the Academy’s Fellows’ participation in the academic, cultural, and political life of Berlin. Before joining the Academy, Rosenberg served as General Manager of the Berliner Philharmoniker from the 2006/07 season through the 2009/10 season. She was General Director of the San Francisco Opera from 2001-2006, and Co-General Manager at the Staatsoper Stuttgart (together with Klaus Zehelein) from 1991-2000. Prior to that, she held various leading creative positions at the Nederlandse Opera Amsterdam, the Deutsche Schauspielhaus in Hamburg, and the Frankfurter Oper. Born in Los Angeles and raised in Venezuela, Rosenberg studied music, history, and literature.
