Rankin makes his Seattle Opera debut as the fight director for the company’s new production of Iphigenia in Tauris. Rankin previously worked with director Stephen Wadsworth on Handel’s Rodelinda at the Metropolitan Opera and also has been fight director for numerous productions at San Diego Opera. He has staged fights on numerous Broadway and Off-Broadway shows, including Jersey Boys, The Who’s Tommy, Two Shakespearean Actors, Twelfth Night, The Real Inspector Hound, Anna Christie, Dracula the Musical, and the Tony Award-winning production of Henry IV, Parts I and II at Lincoln Center. Regionally he has worked with many companies all over the country and is an Associate Artist as an actor and fight director at San Diego’s Old Globe Theatre. Film credits include Renaissance Man, Tumbleweeds, and Human Error.
