Student and Senior Rush

Students with a valid ID may purchase one $20 ticket. Seniors 65 and over with valid ID may purchase one $30 ticket. Rush Tickets are available starting at 5:30 for evening performances and 12:00 for matinee performances. Each person must be present with valid ID to purchase a rush ticket. We will not sell more than one rush ticket per person. Two seating options will be presented for you to choose from. Due to the high demand of rush tickets, we are unable to allow rush ticket-buyers to select seats. If you have specific seating requirements, please purchase a full-price ticket. Seat options are at the discretion of Seattle Opera. Rush is not available on Dress Circle and Second Tier Side Upper seats. Sorry, there is no rush available for the Ring.

Standing Room

We offer standing room tickets for performances at McCaw Hall for $12. Standing room is in the back of the Orchestra, and you do, literally, stand throughout the performance (you cannot sit in any unoccupied seats, but there is a padded rail to lean against). Standing room tickets go on sale on the day of show, $12 per person. They can be purchased over the phone beginning at 9 am on Wednesday and Friday for the Wednesday and Friday performances, and at noon on Saturday for the Saturday and Sunday performances. Standing room can also be purchased at our administrative offices at 1020 John Street during those times. Standing room tickets are not available for purchase online. Please be aware that the English translations may not be visible from the standing room location in the back of the Orchestra seating, and that availability is extremely limited.

Student Subscriptions

Young people enjoy generous discounts when subscribing. A limited number of 50% off subscriptions are available in the Sunday matinee series for students 21 and under. Download the 2009/10 student subscription price chart.

Family Day

At least once a year, Seattle Opera designates a Sunday “Family Day” matinee. For these specially designated performances, all students 18 and under in the company of an adult pay only $15 for most any seat in McCaw Hall. Family Days also feature special student-oriented activities, as well as complimentary admission to both the pre-show “Overtures” lecture and post-show Q&A session. In the 2009/10 season, Family Day will be the Sunday, March 7, 2010 performance of Verdi’s Falstaff. Tickets to Falstaff go on sale Saturday, September 12.

Teen Tix

Seattle Opera is a proud participant in Seattle Center's Teen Tix program. Enrolled teens get opera tickets for $5 on the day of the opera. Limited to 12 seats per performance. Seattle Opera does not anticipate any tickets for the Ring to be available for this program.
