On Seattle Opera’s mainstage Peter Kazaras has directed Falstaff, Norma, The Marriage of Figaro, Tristan und Isolde, The Barber of Seville, Madama Butterfly, and The Consul. He was the Artistic Director of Seattle Opera’s Young Artists Program and has worked at San Francisco Opera’s Merola program and Chautauqua Institution Vocal Department. As a singer, Kazaras’s roles at Seattle Opera have included Loge in Der Ring des Nibelungen, Peter Quint in The Turn of the Screw, and Pierre Bezukhov in War and Peace, among others. He is now a Professor of Music and the Director of Opera Studies at UCLA. He will direct La bohème at LA Opera next year.
